One of the things I loved about Domino, the former stomping grounds of Lonny’s co-founder Michelle Adams, was that the retired-but-recently-resurrected shelter mag often spotlighted its own editors’ home renovations and projects. That included Adams’ starter apartment in 2009 that while small was packed with style — but in an approachable way. Later, Adams treated readers of her newly-launched digital home magazine to a look inside her more grown-up and glamorous abode in the August 2012 issue of Lonny, before revealing the evolution of her apartment after scaling back on the glamour to reveal an elegant and eco-friendly apartment in 2010 that still had the underpinnings of the design guru’s classic style. And in the March 2013 issue of Lonny, we get to see her all-grown-up designer digs — a mix of modern elegance and classic refinement. It’s been super fun to see how Adams’ taste has evolved since Domino folded, Lonny was founded, and the digital mag has flourished. I’m really inspired by how Adams has relied on the same pieces and built upon that foundation over the years to take her home from a stylish starter to a glamorous modern gal’s apartment to an elegant couple’s abode to a mature and modern classic, all while staying true to her aesthetic and signature pieces.
